THIS SIDE OF 40

 RAMBLING
Back to Full Blog

Sleepy   Yeah I know....I'm falling asleep at the wheel again! In my defense though, that damed Facebook has been occupying most of my time!! I still haven't tried the Bejeweled thing that Gloria keeps talking about, but I'll get around to it when I know my crops on Farm Town are doing well!

Anyhoo...Here's the life of BryM lately:

PHOTO OF THE MONTH

As you can see, I'm not the only one in Casa de BryM to be a proud uncle these days...here's RC with his niece Miranda, taken on Father's Day. She is doing very well [she's the miracle baby] and has started to crawl!! She's also learning to talk--though you can't expect much of a conversation from a baby that's less than a year old!

Now if you wondering why RC doesn't look too happy in this picture, it's because I was desperately trying to get a shot of him and Miranda that didn't have the light glare in the background from the french doors they were in front of. It took several minutes, and being one that hates having his picture made you can imagine what he was thinking......

SPEAKING OF MONTHLY

Blowing Bubble   It seems as though the women in my life are getting a visit from Ms. Monthly--all at the same time! My sister snapped at me yesterday because I asked her what we'd be doing to my choppers at my next dental appointment..she tells me, "Do you not have a phone that you can use to call the office and find out?!" *Ahem...let's keep in mind that my sister is the dental hygeniest and works for my dentist!!!

Then there's Cindy--I'm not sure what her deal is, but she's been crabby for weeks now! I can't be around her for more than a few minutes before she starts bitching about not being able to find a job; going to school; the house; the pool; etc etc.....and I know it may sound strange, but I think she's blaming ME for her woes--she sent over some banana pudding yesterday because I was feeling a bit under the weather. That was really sweet & all, except for one thing: I despise banana pudding!

Here's a prediction about bitchy women: I mentioned earlier that I haven't been feeling well, so I've had to stay home from work today as a result. When I return tomorrow, I foresee the hens having their feathers in an uproar because I was out. It's just a feeling....

IN THE MEDIA

Capitol Hill  I heard a blurb on tv today--First Lady Michelle Obama has announced that all Americans should try to live healthier lifestyles.........Huh .........er, ok, but what if I don't want to live a healthier lifestyle? Is the government going to make me live healthier? Apparently so. First, the prez himself signed into law that the FDA can regulate what goes into tobacco products. Yeah yeah, I know..smoking is bad for you blah blah blah....but here's the thing--first it's going to be watering down our smokes; then it'll be regulating the amount of 'unhealthy ingredients' in our food; and eventually the FDA will have the right to force us all to go to a gym 3 times a week. All in the name of a healthier nation of course.

-->Ed McMahon died today. Sad, huh? Do you think when he got to Heaven that Johnny Carson said "Heeeerre's Ed!!" ....?? Chin

-->John & Kate Plus Eight are getting divorced. I'm curious though....if they live in a community property state, does that mean each of them will get 4 kids in the divorce settlement? Spock

AND FINALLY

-->My poor cat Miss Bigglesworth is starting to show her age. She's been with me for over 11 years now and I've not once had a problem with her having "accidents" on the floor--at least not until about a month ago. It started out with me finding little wet surprises on the carpet in various rooms in the house, but I of course couldn't punish her for it because I hadn't actually seen her do the diddle. Now though, she's beginning to do it right in front of RC and me! Mad as I get about it though, my anger is nothing compared to RC's!! I have to constantly remind him that Miss Bigglesworth IS a senior citizen now and she probably can't help it.

Pouty  I'm afraid that this might be the beginning of the end for my Miss B--why can't our pets just age like we humans?! I realize it may sound a bit over the top, but when it is time for my cat to die I will NOT be in a good place. She may be just a cat, but she's been with me since she was barely 6 weeks old and she's been there beside me through a lot of things over the years.

That's all for now!

Hi Bry, nice to see you here. I think Facebook and Spring have everyone busy. Liked your comments on Ed McMann, Michelle and Jon and Kate.

My dog is showing his age. I've had him to the vet and he's not getting immediately well as I thought he would. You might want to take mrs. B to the vet. Cats get urinary track infections fairly easily. They also can have other disorders that would cause the "wet gifts". Most can be treated if found early.

I have to take this stupid FREE guinea pig in to have a lump removed on Monday $$$$$$, I can just imagine what it's going to cost.

take care, Bohemian

Well I am glad to hear that you area still alive and kicking and as for that Game on Facebook..Take your time.. But do give it a try...
As for Miss B. I would take her to the vet also.. She may just have a bladder infection cured with one antibotic a day.
And how is Sammy ?
And for all the women in your life that are bitchy take it with a grain of salt and throw it away..
Stay safe
Gloria

i agree with the other posters. My other cat would do that when she was about the age of your kitty. She also started to show blood in her urine. A trip to the vet, some antibiotics a change in food and she was fine. I hate to switch to a food that helped the ph balance in her body. You can get it in any pet store or walmart, just read the labels. the worse part was trying to give her the pills. The vet showed me a trick. Put the pill in her mouth then clamp your hand around her mouth and nose like a funnel and blow a quick puff of air into your hand. It startles them and they swallow, worked everytime for my cat.

I hate to say it Bry but if all these females are being bitchy and the only thing they have in common is you....... LOL

I had a cat named Buffy or B for short...she was in my family 14 years. My mom gave her to me about 4 years before she died. I crieed when she died. She too showed her age and went on the carpet...It saddened me, so I can relate. I will pray for you and pray Mrs. Bigglesworth has many more good years.

I really enjoyed your post. The bit about the cat reminded me about mine Sweetypie Fluffypants. She made herself mine when she was about 6 weeks old, and has been very much a daddys girl cat ever since. She likes to lay around and sleep whereversh likes it outside. Like in the driveway. The govt putting its nose into our private lives "for our own good"? I wonder how that will turn out. A lot of creative types have or had a smoking and or drinking habit. How dull the world would be without an Irish poet or an inventor! If it's all taken away- for our own good - what's the use? I'm rambling, so I'd better stop for now. Keep up the good work.

how sad about Miss B - yes our pets are our lives - I am over at fb too - I think we are friends - but I can't be sure June spends a lot of time at her farm - I have decided not to join the farming community - one farmer in the family is enough, I think....

take care.. sounds like the truck is ok...

Bry,

Farming on FB has ruined me and the fact that I'm a part time Mafia member doesn't help much either I do believe I need a life

I'm a woman...I don't understand myself half of the time so no way will I even begin to try to explain why your friends are bitchy

I've never had a cat long enough to know anything about them really. I'm sorry your cat is getting up in age and not doing her best.

Hey Bry! I'm on FB, but haven't been on but once in a few weeks. I wasn't going to farm (no time!) but keep getting stuff from everyone. I've been told my farm is dead & pitiful. I have no time for that!

first it's going to be watering down our smokes; I think what he's doing is making them remove the bad chemical additives that keeps us addicted. The chemicals are NOT needed.

As for the women...it's our perogative...remember that!

I hear you about your cat, Miss B. Just keep loving her and taking care of her as best you can. That's what I did for my Columbus cat last year and his kidney problems worsened anyway. But one thing I'll always take comfort from was his rubbing his face against my hand. We were getting back home from a visit to the vet and the cat was in a really bad way. But I'll never regret giving him all of the comfort and love during the time he spent with me --- only 2 short years.
