THIS SIDE OF 40: Life With BryM

 BRY-M: REPLACED??!!
Back to Full Blog

Sick In Bed Blech. That's about the most I can say about the last several days. I was beginning to wonder if I was going to have to recruit someone to ghost write this blog for me!! I did attempt an entry on Sunday evening, but I got halfway through the first paragraph and said 'fukit'......

Yes, yours truly has been ailing of late. I've had this issue with an ear ache for over a week now....it's not exactly your typical "ear ache" in that it's a constant pain....it's more like something that comes and goes, but always makes its presence known [if that makes any sense]....it's very annoying actually. I bought some stuff that I had hoped would help, but alas...it seems my problem isn't the result of a potato field in my ear! A friend told me yesterday, "You really should see a doctor when you aren't feeling well for more than a couple of days...." The reason for her concern? "You're not a YOUNG man anymore you know!"
ShockedIt's always such a comfort to hear from a friend that you're an old beat down wreck of a person!! Sheesh!!

So anyways, today I decided that I'd better get some writing done before everyone thinks I fell into a sinkhole or something!

Aside from my ear feeling like it's going to erupt at any time, things have been pretty normal [as normal as MY life can get anyway!] .......I got a guilt trip from my brother AND my sister because I wasn't able to attend my nephew's birthday party this weekend! Never mind that I wasn't feeling well on top of being a broke bitch!! My aunt did remind me of something though....neither my brother OR my sister have been to MY house in MONTHS!! AHA!! Ammunition!!                                                  Jeep     Let them just TRY and give me a bunch of crap---NEXT time I'll be ready for them!!

So that's about it for now.....until I'm feeling 100% (I'd even be happy with 95%) I probably won't be around a whole lot, so don't send the guys in the white coats for me just yet! Doctor

Definitely some infection down in there...and you know I think a grown ass man can handle any pain...but an EAR ACHE...that will bring him to his knees.

It is such a localized, excruciating pain...wouldn't wish it on my worst enem.....well, actually I might...

But certainly not YOU Mr. B.

Please get it looked at...soon.

And by the way...about you not going to the birthday party. Puh-leeze, unless there is a gas card as a party favor...I would have done the same thing. In this day and age...well, it's a reality, we are all having to pick and choose where we drive to.

Michele Feel better soon.

Bry, get your ear looked at, Gloria is so right. You definetely have something wrong and it's probably an infection. You don't want to loose your hearing.

I was catching up on your posts, funny sex survey .

I'm one of those people who use some odd colors so I like it. It reminds of the Painted Lady Victorian homes of Cape May NJ. It's not that bad. Especially if some other neighbors are using blue and yellow etc. I've lived in neighborhoods with covenants where you had to get the color APPROVED if you wanted to change the front door or something. My current house is white with black shutters (Colonial look). One time I bought paint I thought was supposed to be "eggplant" for the front door. Well, it was bright purple when the sun hit it. I knew everyone hated it. I left it that way for five years. It's sort of a clay color to match the brick porch and walkway now.

Hope you feel better. Take Care.

I sent you some Rx suggestions when I replied to your comment on my blog. Lots of fluids and rest. If you can sleep in a semi-upright position for a few nights, it will also help.

I may look around and see if I can afford to send you 'nurse-in-a-box'. It goes well with a great big box o' wine.

here is an old wives tale that a friend says works. Get someone to bow ciggarete smoke in your ear. My friend swears it helps the pain. Get to a doctor young man. Why take a chance of losing some hearing in your ear. Yes you may not hear the hens at work anymore (blessing) but niether will you be able to enjoy things that you actually want to enjoy. Keep us posted please.

Having a bad ear infection is a really big pain...I had tubes in my ears when I was younger and let me tell you I almost lost my hearing because of it!!

Please go and get checked!! Let us know how you are doing ok??!!

Bry, replaced? Never! Hope you get that ear ache under control. Have you tried an antihistamine? This kept my son's ear ache problems in check.
luv ya,
n.

Try putting very (boiling) hot water in a jar or water bottle (like you drink from) Wrap a dish towel around it and sleep with the offending ear down in it.
I have had ear aches my whole life from a variety of reasons and this reduces swelling, helps release infections and will loosen any ear wax, and will reduce the pain. I don't ask the why, I just am glad it works.
Don't let others bring you down to them. the whiners are just trouble makers, you know why and that is what matters.
