Today marks the end of my second full week at the new job. I've learned a LOT in those two weeks (plus 3 days)....it's a funny thing about me. When I feel like I havne't retained anything, those around me seem to think I'm doing a bang up job! Such is the case at the new place....I've spent a lot of time learning my function by sitting with SEVERAL different people, which is fine, but it can also be very confusing. I've been very nervous about that, because I thought that surely my supervisor would notice and have a bit lower opinion of my abilities to do the job.

Apparently, I was wrong. Today I was told that I'm doing an amazing job and that I have caught on much better than a lot of people in the past. There's one other guy in my general area that has gotten similar praise....and as a result, we've both been invited to submit our resumes for permanent positions. The agency that recruited me (and the other guy) normally has an exclusive 90 day contract, but since we've both done so well, the company is willing to buy out the contracts! Cool huh? Of course that means going through the whole interview routine again....gotta love corporate America, huh? It's all good though...I know how the game is played...I also will be getting my official log ins for all the computer programs, my desk, AND my laptop next week. It was a nice feeling to see my name plate printed and ready for me on my supervisor's desk! By the way, did I ever mention my supervisor looks amazingly like Eric Roberts the actor? Strange, huh?

In other news.......

Tomorrow will be a sad day. I've had a glorious week driving cousin's Jeep while he's been in Florida, but he's going to be home late tonight and I have to bring it back to him tomorrow. *sigh That means going back to the un-a/c'd truck again. Damnit. Hey I wonder if a tree accidentally fell on it if I'd get enough out of it to buy a car with a/c that WORKS??!! Yes, I have full coverage insurance on it. I decided to go that way with the insurance when a hail storm caused a lot of damage to my Forenza that I used to have. It's worth the extra $20 a year, let me tell ya!

This being the holiday, I didn't have to work! Yay! I didn't really do anything significant, but enjoyed the day nonetheless. I went to Wally World and got some allergy medicine, some face wash stuff..it's orange scented even!, and some other stuff I needed. Then I went and ate at the Chinese buffet...it was excellent as always. This place makes the BEST curry chicken!!

Of course, it being ME, the day had to start off kinda shitty...I locked myself out of the house! Luckily, my Kroger Plus card acted as a spare key and I was able to get back in..thank God because I would have never heard the bitching about it from my roommate if he would have had to drive home to let me in. And I damn sure wasn't staying outside in the heat!

I didn't buy any fireworks...I figure if everyone else around has them, why bother? hehehe Just about everyone on the street is gone anyway, so not much point in doing anything much.

Yeah, I'm a geek, what can I say? But hey, at least I'm not bitching about anything tonight! heh heh

It's the strangest thing....usually my Monday posts are me complaining about my lousy Monday. Today was different though. It wasn't half bad actually!

I got to work with little to no effort..usually traffic isn't all that great, but this being a holiday week, there was hardly anyone on the road. Then when I got to work, there was a space on the bottom level of the parking deck..something that almost NEVER happens! AND...it was very nice outside today....about 85 degrees with very low humidity.

I sat with a girl named Valerie today, but instead of actually doing the "driving", I sat and took notes for the first half of the day...something I really needed to have been doing since the week before last....but no worries...at least I can write down what I've learned rather than try to keep up with what I'm seeing on the screen.

So all in all, it wasn't a bad Monday at all! I'm looking forward to Wednesday...I'm OFF!! Two days in the same week! WOO HOO!

Well, as promised, I took the day off and it was FANTASTIC!!! I really REALLY needed today!! I got up at about 8am and called into the 2nd job and told them I was taking a sick day. I think that they sort of knew I needed it because he (the manager on duty) didn't give me a hard time at all....

Afterwards, I went back to bed and slept until almost 11!! That's the longest I've slept in QUITE some time...but I needed the rest. Once I rejoined the land of the living, I got on the computer, surfed a bit and then drew some plans on my home design software. Then I ate some lunch, watched some tv and then got back on the internet.

I swear I haven't felt this good in WEEKS!! So it helped me make the decision that next weekend will be my last with the 2nd job. I just can't keep going and going...I'm not the Energizer bunny. Well, at least not when it comes to working two jobs, anyway! Get your mind out of the gutter Candy!!

I finally managed to get my bedroom cleaned up...it looked like a bomb had hit it!! The living room needed some vacuuming too, so I did that. Other than those two things, I did absolutely NO work whatsoever! It was great! Now that my batteries are somewhat recharged, I can actually look forward to the coming week.
